HR Topics -- World Glaucoma Week

The podcast of last weekend's show about World Glaucoma Week is now available.  My guest is Dr. Constance Okeke of Virginia Eye Consultants.

Glaucoma is a disease of the eye's retina that can lead to blindness.  More than two million Americans have it.  Glaucoma is easily diagnosed through screening and is treatable.  For people under age 40, even those who don't wear glasses, Dr. Okeke recommends an eye exam every two to four years.  For people 40 to 55, the screenings should be every two to three years, and past 55, every one to two years.
