Ask HR Green: How to Throw a Greener Super Bowl Party

Sunday, 1/29 @ 6am

This Sunday on Hampton Roads Topics I talk with Brianna Venner, Deidre Harmon and Katie Culipher of AskHRGreen.org about ideas for a greener Super Bowl party. First and foremost, they are encouraging residents to refrain from dumping cooking grease or uneaten food down the drain or into the garbage disposal. Food and grease will coalesce in drains, possibly creating a clog.

Instead, they suggest throwing uneaten food in the garbage. For grease, they recommend pouring it into a jar and then freezing the jar. Once the grease has solidified, the jar can be thrown away.

Ideas on hosting the party in a greener fashion include reusable plates and cups, and having recycling bins handy for used drink cans.
